Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in a Business, Science, Engineering, or Mathematical discipline.
  • 4-6 years of Quality Assurance experience in a GMP industry, or 2-4 years in the CAPA Associate role.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety standards and requirements for Infant Formula and Medical Nutritional products.
  • Knowledge of Food processing technologies, laboratory methods and statistical applications.
  • Strong technical writing, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Able to communicate with all levels of disciplines, management and employees in multiple communication forums.
  • Must be organized and able to self-prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to manage multiple, high priority projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review nonconformances that may have potential impact to product quality, assuring that documents are compliant with Abbott site procedures, Division policies, applicable Regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide Quality guidance during Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective/Preventive Action (CAPA) determination processes.
  • Perform the Investigative Lead function for complex investigations involving Quality.
  • Assure Samplings, Destructions and Corrections are compliant with Abbott site procedures, Division policies and industry standards.
  • Manage Complaint, Surveillance, and Deviation sampling programs.
  • Responsible for review of batch corrections, samplings and rework.
  • Participate in, or lead, the completion of CAPA projects, assuring compliance, quality and timeliness of records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using various methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma root cause analysis/problem solving skills).
  • Support team in the delivery and oversight of CAPA training program.
  • Lead meetings and communications for CAPA updates, information, and concerns
  • Process requests, ensuring owners are assigned, and timely responses and approvals are provided in alignment with quality goals.
  • Accountable for meeting compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
