TC Transcontinental is seeking a Senior Canadian Tax Analyst to be responsible for tax provisions, tax compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a complex IFRS environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation required
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in tax compliance and tax accounting
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate tax legislation
  • Proficiency with common computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
  • Bilingualism: French and English

Nice To Haves

  • Tax education: CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course (formerly CICA In-Depth Tax Course) or a Graduate Diploma in Taxation
  • Knowledge of Taxprep
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Longview is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare income tax provisions and tax note disclosures for Canadian legal entities and the consolidated group.
  • Participate in the full Canadian corporate income tax return preparation process.
  • Prepare reconciliations between tax provisions and prior-year income tax returns ("true-ups").
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and Regulation 52-109.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement and automation of tax processes to enhance operational performance and support the evolution of the tax function.
  • Support the identification and implementation of tax optimization opportunities.
  • Participate in special projects, including reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions.
  • Respond to ad hoc tax-related requests.
