About The Position
TC Transcontinental is seeking a Senior Canadian Tax Analyst to be responsible for tax provisions, tax compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a complex IFRS environment. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA designation required
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in tax compliance and tax accounting
- Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate tax legislation
- Proficiency with common computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Bilingualism: French and English
Nice To Haves
- Tax education: CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course (formerly CICA In-Depth Tax Course) or a Graduate Diploma in Taxation
- Knowledge of Taxprep
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Longview is considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Prepare income tax provisions and tax note disclosures for Canadian legal entities and the consolidated group.
- Participate in the full Canadian corporate income tax return preparation process.
- Prepare reconciliations between tax provisions and prior-year income tax returns ("true-ups").
- Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and Regulation 52-109.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement and automation of tax processes to enhance operational performance and support the evolution of the tax function.
- Support the identification and implementation of tax optimization opportunities.
- Participate in special projects, including reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions.
- Respond to ad hoc tax-related requests.
