About The Position

Responsible for using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create accurate technical drawings and 3-D models for custom stainless steel foodservice equipment that results in designs being aligned with industry standards and meeting Voice of Customer (VOC) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) requirements.

Requirements

• CAD certificate, Associate’s degree in Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor) and familiarity with 3D modeling techniques.
• 0-5 years of related experience.
• Possess some understanding of stainless-steel sheet metal properties and fabrication processes.
• Great attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Ability to review and interpret architectural drawings.
• Ability to read and understand written specs provided by customers.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes, regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilize CAD software (such as AutoCAD and Inventor) to generate 2D and 3D drawings, plans, and elevations based on design requirements and specifications provided by engineers and design team.
• Collaborate closely with estimators and project managers to understand design intent and incorporate necessary modifications into drawings.
• Participate in design reviews to provide input on DFM and design optimization.
• Review and revise drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and adherence to company guidelines.
• Perform thorough quality checks on drawings to identify and rectify any errors or inconsistencies.
• Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, estimating, and project management, to address queries and clarify design specifications.
• Work within established project timelines to ensure that drawings are completed and delivered according to project schedules.
• Revise drawings based on markups and feedback from customers.
• Coordinate with project managers and the drafting manager to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
