About The Position

Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, this role is primarily responsible for ensuring supplier performance is in line with business expectations. It involves assisting stakeholders in establishing and managing resolution issues relating to part availability. The role also supports the manufacturing location operations team in achieving their KPIs and business objectives, particularly concerning supplier capacity, incoming quality, and supplier-related warranty issues. A deep understanding of the supply base and the ability to influence it to consistently receive the required level of service are essential. This role acts as the link between the category management team and the business, supporting any implemented change management programs.

Responsibilities

  • Providing local input into the creation of category strategies.
  • Assisting category teams with developing a category execution plan and driving a system to monitor and manage supplier performance through KPIs.
  • Delivering robust implementation plans in line with the sourcing strategy, supporting early supplier engagement, cost-saving projects, tendering, contracting, capacity management, and supplier performance targets.
  • Monitoring progress of strategies and modifying them in line with the changing business environment.
  • Working with the team to develop commercial contracts to deliver the needs of the business.
  • Liaising with business functions to ensure the implementation of the strategy.
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure the implementation of supply contracts.
  • Working with the category team and SDEs to monitor supplier performance against agreed frameworks.
  • Coordinating and managing group allocation decisions and priorities in extreme scenarios.
  • Ensuring the supply base supports the manufacturing site and/or category, communicating appropriately regarding forward planning and significant volume fluctuations.
  • Managing supplier performance escalations from the Materials Team and closing Supplier Delivery 8Ds for relevant categories.
  • Dealing with suppliers and customers on the rectification of performance issues related to quality.
  • Supporting launch activities within the category and/or manufacturing location to ensure the supply base meets the timing, quality, and cost expectations of relevant programs.
  • Representing Purchasing in Top 10 Warranty reviews and closing out supplier-related issues within required KPIs.
  • Acting on alerts from the continuous risk assessment process and ensuring Business Continuity plans are in place with appropriate suppliers.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
