About The Position

Eaton’s Power Systems Division is currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Innovative Switchgear (ISG) manufacturing site in Broomfield, Colorado. The Senior Buyer is responsible for executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring continuity of supply in support of manufacturing operations. This role is based at our Broomfield, CO location. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or procurement.
  • Demonstrated experience with purchasing practices, supplier negotiation, and sourcing strategies.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations and material flow.
  • Experience using MRP or ERP systems for material planning and purchasing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and material specifications.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience
  • CPIM or CPM certification.
  • Experience supporting direct materials in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor material shortages and expedite parts as needed, communicating risks and actions to Planning, Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Work directly with suppliers on pricing, delivery schedules, and future order planning to support production requirements.
  • Perform cost savings analysis, volume planning, and cost‑out initiatives aligned with site and division goals.
  • Review MRP signals and place discrete and blanket purchase orders.
  • Develop new supplier sources in partnership with Corporate Supply Chain.
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality on material changes and product updates.
  • Take actions related to excess and obsolete inventory on assigned commodities.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure plant inventory, service, and working capital targets are achieved.
  • Resolve accounts payable and invoice discrepancies related to purchasing activity.
  • React to changes in demand trends, inventory levels, and product mix to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Resolve non‑conformance issues related to incoming or third‑party material in coordination with Quality and suppliers.
  • Uses effective negotiation skills with internal and external suppliers to resolve issues, manage disputes, and develop win win outcomes.
  • Applies data analysis and analytical tools to drive process, cost, and material flow improvements.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of the value chain and the cost drivers impacting manufactured products.
  • Supports and contributes to cost out strategies through fact based analysis and supplier collaboration.
  • Apply project management concepts to procurement initiatives and sourcing activities.
  • Prepares procurement related reports and documentation for use by site and Supply Chain stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management in support of site and business objectives.
