ACCIONA Construction USA, part of the SR 400 Peach Partners consortium, have been awarded the contract to design and construct the SR 400 Express Lanes project in Atlanta, Georgia. This $4.6 billion project, awarded by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), is a key public-private partnership aimed at addressing congestion on a major highway in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Senior Buyer will lead efforts to source materials and equipment by contacting vendors, gathering quotes, issuing purchase orders, and facilitating product purchasing with guidance and approval from the Procurement Manager. Job Description To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED required.
  • 5 years minimum related experience in a buyer role working for a medium-to-large contractor.
  • Local vendors market knowledge (Atlanta area)
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills required.
  • Introductory knowledge of Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) with general knowledge of database utilization.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Able to identify, track and communicate project plan steps and actions.
  • Team player with the ability to also work independently to meet fixed deadlines, goals and objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • A recognized Procurement Certification is desirable (APICS, CPSM or similar).
  • JD Edwards E1 World experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a network of vendors to gather quotes for identified materials, consumables and/or rental equipment.
  • Prepare and issue bid comparison sheets for approval to proceed.
  • Creation and negotiation of Purchase Orders.
  • Records goods ordered and received; assists with accounts payable reconciliation.
  • Proven ability to accurately track status of orders after issuance of Purchase Order.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence as needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.
  • Support published corporate policies.
  • Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
