About The Position

The Senior Buyer will play a crucial role in sourcing materials and equipment for the SR 400 Express Lanes project in Atlanta, Georgia, a significant public-private partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation. This role involves leading procurement efforts, including vendor management, quote gathering, purchase order issuance, and facilitating purchases under the guidance of the Procurement Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED required.
  • 5 years minimum related experience in a buyer role working for a medium-to-large contractor.
  • Local vendors market knowledge (Atlanta area).
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills required.
  • Introductory knowledge of Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) with general knowledge of database utilization.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Able to identify, track and communicate project plan steps and actions.
  • Team player with the ability to also work independently to meet fixed deadlines, goals and objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • A recognized Procurement Certification is desirable (APICS, CPSM or similar).
  • JD Edwards E1 World experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a network of vendors to gather quotes for identified materials, consumables and/or rental equipment.
  • Prepare and issue bid comparison sheets for approval to proceed.
  • Creation and negotiation of Purchase Orders.
  • Records goods ordered and received; assists with accounts payable reconciliation.
  • Accurately track status of orders after issuance of Purchase Order.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence as needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.
  • Support published corporate policies.
  • Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
