Senior Buyer - Plant Segment Support

This opportunity is for a Senior Buyer to support two major Procurement Teams, focusing on executing strategies that drive supply security, cost savings, process optimization, and supplier risk mitigation. The company is offering full relocation assistance to Northwest Connecticut, with a flexible remote transition period of 30-60 days. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
- Eligibility for ITAR-controlled work (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder).
Nice To Haves
- 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Finance, or Supply Chain.
- Familiarity with Oracle or a similar ERP system.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort building metrics/reports from data.
- Willingness to be a regular presence on the shop floor.
- A customer-oriented, collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities
- Prepare RFQs and proposals based on Plant requirements; evaluate quotations and perform cost analyses weighing price, schedule, quality, and capability.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and lead times aligned with Plant goals.
- Place and maintain purchase orders, ensuring accurate pricing, charge codes, and vendor promise dates.
- Resolve invoice holds in coordination with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Reconcile shipping documentation with the Receiving department.
- Support new supplier onboarding and new item set-up.
- Partner with Shipping, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Accounts Payable, and Facilities to resolve Plant issues promptly.
- Ensure procurement procedure compliance for quality and financial audits.
- Provide responsive, attentive support to overall business operations.
