About The Position

Allegion’s Stanley Access Technologies division is seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner to own end-to-end procurement for assigned component categories supporting its Farmington Manufacturing Operation. The role combines strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, inventory optimization, and project leadership to support cost, quality, and delivery performance. The Senior Buyer/Planner works with procurement colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders, including production, operations, engineering, and finance, to support continuous improvement and lean initiatives. The posting identifies Farmington, Connecticut, and states travel may be required up to 10%.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of manufacturing purchasing or procurement experience, including quoting, negotiating, planning, and supplier management.
Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capability, and experience using data to drive decisions.
Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Strong negotiation skills and experience delivering cost-reduction programs.
Demonstrated ability to lead or influence continuous-improvement or lean initiatives.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, particularly D365 F&O.
Certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, or other supply-chain/procurement credentials.

Responsibilities

Lead procurement and planning for assigned categories, including quoting, negotiating, ordering, and tracking components.
Develop and execute category strategies that optimize total cost of ownership, mitigate supply risk, and improve quality.
Own supplier relationships; evaluate supplier performance and drive improvements in DSI, on-time delivery, and adherence to quality specifications.
Resolve supplier delivery issues, expedite critical materials, and reschedule orders with suppliers to minimize production impact.
Collaborate with production and planning to maintain target inventory levels against departmental goals and recommend and implement corrective actions.
Lead or support supplier development, qualification, and cost-reduction initiatives, including RFQs, supplier consolidation, and contract negotiations.
Manage special projects, including new product introductions, short-run programs, and process-improvement efforts.
Partner with operations, engineering, and finance to drive inventory optimization, supplier innovation, and process improvements.
Drive lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives with production and operations teams.
Maintain customer service levels of approximately 98%, monitor KPIs, and provide actionable reporting to stakeholders.
Use procurement analytics and ERP/MRP tools to support decisions, plan and track orders, and analyze inventory and procurement data.
Mentor and coach junior buyers/planners and contribute to team process standardization and best practices.
Travel up to 10%.
Maintain customer service levels and optimize inventory; deliver cost savings and supplier performance improvements; reduce lead-time variability and supply-chain risks; sustain lean initiatives; and support team development.
