About The Position

Urban Outfitters is looking for a Senior Buyer in Men's Wovens. The role involves architecting a customer-obsessed product mix that is bold, ahead of the curve, and commercially explosive. This position requires a decade of experience backed by a relentless focus on data and a genuine passion for youth culture to drive a retail resurgence and shape what's next.

Requirements

  • 9+ years in a fast-paced buying role, with major experience in a high-volume category.
  • A degree in Fashion, Merchandising, or equivalent industry knowledge.
  • Full command of retail statistics (IMU%, MD%, GM%, WOS, OTB, etc.) and the ability to turn complex data into a clear business strategy.
  • Deep, demonstrated understanding of the target customer.
  • Ability to build trust and inspire cross-functional partners (Design, Planning, Production, Sourcing).
  • Ability to communicate complex strategy to leadership.
  • Experience mentoring junior talent and fostering a customer-centric, trend-responsive team culture.

  • Experience scaling a private label line.

Responsibilities

  • Create a balanced, brand-defining assortment by translating raw customer feedback, macro trends, and deep dives into the market.
  • Own the key item strategy, especially for viral fits and core blocks, to drive maximum sales and profit.
  • Crush our core business while constantly dropping fashion newness, testing new silhouettes, and leading strategic online expansion to snatch up web-exclusive wins.
  • Be obsessed with fashion, style, and cultural movements, watching shows, reading extensively, and owning the social conversation to stay at the cutting edge of Men's Apparel micro-trends.
  • Spot emerging trends before they become widespread and instantly turn that insight into actionable, relevant product opportunities that define the season.
  • Proactively manage the Open to Buy (OTB) and use real-time trends to execute timely reorders, cancellations, and markdown strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Analyze velocity, attributes, returns (with a focus on fit!), and markdowns to constantly optimize the assortment.
  • Mentor the team on using insights, not just gut feelings, to drive growth.
