About The Position

The Senior Buyer - Manufacturing & Procurement is responsible for procurement execution, inventory management, and cycle counting across manufacturing partners. This role focuses on ensuring supplier on-time delivery, resolving past-due orders, and addressing material shortages to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, inventory management, or supply chain operations
  • Experience working in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in inventory optimization
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills for supplier interaction
  • Ability to travel as needed for supplier visits and partner meetings

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting manufacturing partners or contract manufacturers
  • Exposure to strategic commodity procurement and supplier development
  • APICS or other supply chain certifications
  • Familiarity with lean supply chain principles and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Execute purchase orders based on demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels
  • Source and purchase raw materials, components, and strategic commodities to support production requirements
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers; negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts
  • Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery (OTD), and drive corrective actions for late or past-due orders
  • Proactively manage shortages and supplier delays to minimize manufacturing impact
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve lead times, quality, and cost efficiency
  • Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity and reliability
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory
  • Perform regular cycle counts at manufacturing partner locations to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions
  • Optimize inventory turnover and storage efficiency using data-driven analysis
  • Identify and mitigate material shortages impacting manufacturing operations
  • Work closely with manufacturing partners to prioritize and resolve shortages
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve supply chain resilience and risk mitigation
  • Develop alternative sourcing strategies to prevent future disruptions
