Senior Business Systems Architect

EncircleKitchener, ON
CA$110,000 - CA$130,000Hybrid

About The Position

Business Systems is responsible for Encircle's revenue tech stack, and we're looking for a Senior Business Systems Architect to provide the architectural depth behind it. You'll help produce and translate a vision for the stack into clear, documented architecture, shape a collaborative and phased plan to get there, and ensure what we build holds together into effective, cohesive business functions. Our landscape is broad and still growing—anchored on Salesforce, supported by a cloud data warehouse, and spanning a wide set of go-to-market and finance tools. You'll bring a strong understanding of business operations and revenue systems, and the ability to work directly within the tools that run them. A core part of the role is hands-on evaluation—diving into applications, validating their capabilities, and recommending the right tool for the job, with an eye toward a lean stack a small team can manage and consolidation where fewer tools would serve us better. This is a deeply hands-on, senior individual-contributor role: you own the detail across the stack's applications and integrations, always in collaboration with the Business Systems team and the wider business, and grounded in real strategy and needs, never in isolation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in business systems, revenue operations systems, or enterprise/Salesforce application architecture
  • Deep Salesforce expertise (Sales Cloud, CPQ, data model, multi-cloud) with hands-on admin and configuration skills—comfortable building directly, not only designing (architect certifications a plus)
  • Hands-on experience standing up and building out data platforms—a data warehouse (Snowflake or similar), a CDP (such as Salesforce Data Cloud), and BI/analytics (Tableau or similar)—including getting data in, modeling it, ensuring quality, and meeting stakeholder needs
  • Integration-architecture experience across CRM and surrounding systems (APIs, middleware/iPaaS, event-driven)
  • Experience designing lead-to-cash / quote-to-cash processes end to end, and a track record of establishing architecture standards, governance, and design-review practices
  • Hands-on application evaluation—validating capabilities and weighing fit, overlap, and cost to recommend the right tools and consolidate where it helps
  • Familiarity and comfort using AI tools (Claude, Agentforce, ChatGPT, Gemini, and more), with the foresight to design for where the stack is heading
  • Strong communication and the ability to influence across functions without direct authority, balancing architectural leadership with hands-on delivery in a lean environment
  • Familiarity with the surrounding revenue stack (Sage Intacct, Maxio, Stripe, DocuSign, ChurnZero, Gong, Pendo, LeanData, Cloudingo, Data Cloud) and B2B SaaS / PropTech experience a plus

Nice To Haves

  • architect certifications a plus
  • B2B SaaS / PropTech experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Help produce and translate a vision for the stack into clear, documented architecture—designing Salesforce and its surrounding tools to work as a coherent system rather than point solutions, with the standards and documentation that keep new work cohesive
  • Bring architectural depth to the end-to-end customer and user journey—from lead routing and quote (CPQ), through signature, provisioning (Entitlements Engine), billing and ledger, into customer success and renewal—influencing and guiding the teams who map it so the design stays on the right path
  • Be the hands-on go-to for standing up and building out the core data platforms—the Snowflake data warehouse, Salesforce Data Cloud (CDP) and orchestration, and Tableau analytics—getting data in, building it out, and working with stakeholders to ensure the data and capabilities they need exist
  • Define and steward the data model and source-of-truth across Salesforce, Snowflake, and the product database
  • Design the governed, scalable integration patterns that connect the CRM with go-to-market, finance, product, and data systems
  • Dive hands-on into applications to validate capabilities and understand their strengths and limitations, and confidently recommend the right tool for the job
  • Identify where the stack can be simplified or consolidated—fewer tools and integrations for a small team to manage—weighing fit, overlap, total cost of ownership, and build-vs-buy
  • Shape and own a collaborative, phased plan for how the stack should evolve, working with Operations to define and prioritize the work
  • Stay entrenched in projects and in-flight implementation and operations work—understanding and contributing to the conversations, and guiding them onto the right architectural path
  • Ensure the architectural vision and details are carried through into what gets built, working hands-on in the core systems as needed
  • Set the architecture and guardrails for applying AI and automation across the stack—in-platform (Agentforce) and standalone (Claude, Chat GPT, Gemini,
  • Look ahead to where AI and emerging capabilities are taking the stack, and design for that future rather than only today's tools
