About The Position

The Senior Business Systems Analyst supports multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX asset classes and their associated trading lifecycles and operational processes) and advances Investment & Operations technology initiatives that enable scalable, resilient, and efficient business capabilities across the firm. This role operates at an independent level, partnering closely with Product Owners, engineering teams, vendors, and senior business stakeholders to translate complex investment and operational needs into well-defined, high quality technology solutions. The Senior Business Systems Analyst serves as a leader in an Agile environment for small to midsized projects, the candidate collaborates with product owners, developers and quality assurance teams to deliver solutions within tight deadlines. This individual is responsible for initially shaping solution scope, driving clarity across ambiguous problem spaces, and ensuring delivery outcomes align with business priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5-6+ years of experience in Financial Services supporting Operations, Trading or Quantitative systems.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of post trade processing trade lifecycle.
  • Deep understanding of business analysis practices, system integration concepts, and modern technology architectures within investment environments.
  • Proven analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to make independent decisions.
  • An in-depth understanding of Agile framework and systems development lifecycle.
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis on systems at all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence senior investment, operations, and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring or leading other analysts and contributing to practice-level and domain-level improvements.
  • Strong SQL skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis of investment & operations business processes and requirements gathering across a variety of platforms for post trade processing including Heliograph, SWIFT, Eagle and other internally developed messaging platforms.
  • Converts complex business requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications, including data, integration, and performance requirements aligned to investment platforms
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to senior business stakeholders, proactively managing scope, expectations, and trade-offs in complex investment initiatives.
  • Collaborates closely with engineering, QA, data, platform, and architecture teams to ensure requirements are testable, traceable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Reviews and validates test strategies, test cases, and acceptance criteria for trading and investment systems; supports automated, regression, and performance testing efforts as required.
  • Ensures adherence to the firm’s Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery practices
  • Ensure the successful completion of user acceptance testing.
  • Oversees implementation readiness, including data validation, operational workflows, controls documentation, and training materials for investment and operations users.
  • Provides production support leadership for investment platforms, including incident triage, root-cause analysis, defect resolution, and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Contributes to strategic planning activities by providing input into investment technology roadmaps, platform enhancements, sequencing, and delivery risk assessments.
  • Mentors and coaches Business Systems Analysts, promoting strong analysis discipline, domain knowledge, and Agile best practices within Investment & Operations Technology.
  • Influences continuous improvement of analysis methods, tools, and standards across the Investment & Operations Technology organization.
