About The Position

ASSYST is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (Healthcare / Medicaid) to support our client project in Austin, TX. This position is onsite. The role involves assisting in the development of project documentation and application online help, conducting requirements gathering with non-technical Subject Matter Experts to understand business process needs and program requirements, and creating documentation such as Use Cases, flow charts, and acceptance criteria for system enhancements. The analyst will analyze business processes to understand the impact of modifications, serve as a technical expert communicating with stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, and ensure designs comply with client standards. Responsibilities also include performing necessary testing, generating test data, writing and executing test scripts, examining test results, and debugging errors. The role requires using current software development methods and standards to ensure application quality and maintainability. Providing status reports on enhancement activities and issue resolution, notifying management of critical issues, and attending status meetings are also key duties. The analyst will update assignments using a ticketing system, provide information to technical and non-technical staff via various communication methods, and facilitate knowledge transfer to eliminate single points of failure. This includes one-on-one discussions, group sessions, and preparing documentation on system architecture, workflows, and dependencies. The role also involves updating supervisors, management, and stakeholders on recommended implementation strategies and solutions.

Requirements

• Experience with Medicaid Claims Processing
• Experience in business objectives and problems and identifying alternative solutions
• Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating user requirements, operational procedures, and problems to automate processing and/or to improve existing computer systems
• Experience in writing detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop and/or modify computer program
• Experience in cost/benefit analysis of systems and alternatives
• Experience in analyzing and documenting input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reporting.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and generation of wireframes
• High level of sound logic and analytical ability difficult
• Highly developed oral and written communications skills
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others motivate employees and elicit work output
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology industry trends, directions and market experience; ability to relate them to own organization
• Knowledge of architectural concepts, principles, and tools relevant to infrastructure, information, applications, organizational structure, etc.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies (new to company systems as well as those that are new to the information systems industry)
• Knowledge of tools, techniques and good practices for protecting the integrity of corporate data and associated processing, company technology practices, standards and procedures
• Knowledge of solution delivery utilizing Agile or Scrum methodology

Responsibilities

• Assists in development of project documentation based on requirements.
• Assists in the development of application on-line help.

• Analyzes new and existing business processes to determine how modifications and changes will impact the system.
• Serves as a technical expert responsible for working with non-technical and technical stakeholders to ensure clear and effective communication is maintained throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Ensures that design complies with client’s standards.
• Performs necessary testing of assigned programs, including the generation of test data, writing test scripts/execution sequences, examining test results, debugging detected errors, etc.
• Uses current software development methods/techniques and established development standards (which include testing standards) to ensure the quality and maintainability of applications.
• Provide status reports on enhancement activities and resolution of issues impacting system.
• Notify immediate manager and technical lead of critical issues impacting the system’s ability to deliver services as designed.
• Attends regular status meetings to update team members such as developers, business analysts, database administrators and project managers on progress of assigned work.
• Regularly updates assignments through the use of a ticketing system allowing for the sharing of information with project team members.
• Provides information to non-technical and technical staff via email, telephone and formal presentations covering such topics as system functionality, data collection processes and other technical issues as needed.
• Facilitate information sharing to ensure knowledge transfer and the elimination of single points of failure for an information system.
• Update immediate supervisor, other management team members and system stakeholders as needed regarding recommended implementation strategies and solutions.
