About The Position

ASSYST is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (Healthcare / Medicaid) to support our client project in Austin, TX. This position is onsite. The role involves assisting in the development of project documentation and application on-line help. It requires conducting requirements gathering with non-technical Subject Matter Experts to understand business process needs and program requirements, creating Use Cases, flow charts, and acceptance criteria. The analyst will analyze business processes to understand the impact of modifications and changes on the system, serving as a technical expert to ensure clear communication throughout the Software Development Life Cycle. Responsibilities include ensuring design compliance with client standards, performing necessary testing (including test data generation, script writing, result examination, and debugging), and providing status reports on enhancement activities and issue resolution. The role requires notifying management of critical issues, attending status meetings, and updating assignments via a ticketing system. Communication with non-technical and technical staff, including internal business groups and external entities, is essential. The position also involves facilitating knowledge transfer and eliminating single points of failure through discussions, group sessions, and documentation preparation, and updating stakeholders on implementation strategies and solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience with Medicaid Claims Processing
  • Experience in business objectives and problems and identifying alternative solutions
  • Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating user requirements, operational procedures, and problems to automate processing and/or to improve existing computer systems
  • Experience in writing detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop and/or modify computer program
  • Experience in cost/benefit analysis of systems and alternatives
  • Experience in analyzing and documenting input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reporting.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and generation of wireframes
  • High level of sound logic and analytical ability difficult

Responsibilities

  • Assists in development of project documentation based on requirements.

  • Analyzes new and existing business processes to determine how modifications and changes will impact the system.
  • Serves as a technical expert responsible for working with non-technical and technical stakeholders to ensure clear and effective communication is maintained throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Ensures that design complies with client’s standards.
  • Performs necessary testing of assigned programs, including the generation of test data, writing test scripts/execution sequences, examining test results, debugging detected errors, etc.
  • Uses current software development methods/techniques and established development standards (which include testing standards) to ensure the quality and maintainability of applications.
  • Provide status reports on enhancement activities and resolution of issues impacting system.
  • Notify immediate manager and technical lead of critical issues impacting the system’s ability to deliver services as designed.
  • Attends regular status meetings to update team members such as developers, business analysts, database administrators and project managers on progress of assigned work.
  • Regularly updates assignments through the use of a ticketing system allowing for the sharing of information with project team members.
  • Provides information to non-technical and technical staff via email, telephone and formal presentations covering such topics as system functionality, data collection processes and other technical issues as needed.
  • Facilitate information sharing to ensure knowledge transfer and the elimination of single points of failure for an information system.
  • Update immediate supervisor, other management team members and system stakeholders as needed regarding recommended implementation strategies and solutions.
