Senior Business Systems Analyst

QED TECHNOLOGIES INTERNATIONAL LLC•Rochester, NY
•$115,000 - $135,000•Hybrid

About The Position

The Senior Business Systems Analyst owns the functional health and forward roadmap of QED's Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform supporting sales and service, and Business Central (ERP) supporting finance, supply chain, and production. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, this senior individual-contributor role is the bridge between business process owners and technology: it translates how QED actually works into system configuration, and applies continuous improvement discipline to confirm a process is worth automating before it gets automated. You will carry meaningful influence over process design, the systems roadmap, and implementation partner selection. This is more than a system-administration role. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable configuring a business process flow, sitting with Finance during month-end close, and facilitating a cross-functional kaizen event on the shop floor. You will bring both deep platform expertise and the process discipline to know when a system change is the right answer and when it isn't.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Seven or more years in business systems analysis, ERP/CRM administration, or functional consulting.
  • Demonstrated functional ownership of both a CRM platform and Business Central.
  • Strong working knowledge of core business processes - order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory management, and standard costing.
  • Proven ability to elicit requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translate them into documented process and system configuration.
  • Experience leading a system implementation, upgrade, or migration end to end.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or a documented record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Microsoft certifications: MB-800 (Business Central Functional Consultant), MB-210 (Sales), MB-230 (Customer Service).
  • Manufacturing experience, particularly in discrete or engineer-to-order production environments.
  • Familiarity with AL and extension development concepts to scope, review, and validate partner work.
  • Experience in a regulated or defense supply chain environment (ITAR/EAR, CMMC, AS9100, or ISO 9001).

Responsibilities

  • Own functional configuration of Sales and Customer Service - tables, forms, views, business rules, and business process flows.
  • Administer security roles, business units, and field-level security; manage user provisioning and license assignment.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to design and refine the lead-to-opportunity-to-quote process.
  • Own functional configuration across finance, inventory, purchasing, sales order processing, and production modules.
  • Maintain item master, bills of material, routings, costing methods, and dimension structures; safeguard master data quality.
  • Support month-end and year-end close alongside Finance; troubleshoot posting, costing, and reconciliation issues.
  • Manage Business Central release waves by evaluating upcoming features, validating in sandbox, and coordinating cutover with minimal operational disruption.
  • Lead process mapping and value stream analysis across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and quote-to-delivery workflows.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methods (DMAIC, root cause analysis, standard work, waste elimination) to reduce cycle time and manual handling before configuring a system solution.
  • Define and track process KPIs; publish improvement results and realized benefits to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate kaizen events and requirements workshops with Sales, Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Quality.
  • Serve as the escalation point for Tier 2 and Tier 3 functional issues; manage the VAR/partner relationship and support backlog.
  • Develop end-user training materials, standard operating procedures, and system documentation; deliver onboarding for new users.
  • Chair the systems change-control process - intake, prioritization, testing, and release approval.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements, including segregation of duties, periodic access reviews, and controlled handling of regulated data.
  • Define functional requirements for system integrations and validate integrated data, partnering with the integration owner on design and troubleshooting.
