About The Position

The Strategic Management & Governance family serves as a dedicated technology partner advancing the firm’s business capabilities by establishing scalable, well governed platforms and processes. Within this group, the Jira Business Systems Analyst plays a critical role in enabling enterprise delivery teams by ensuring Jira is configured, governed, and evolved to meet business, regulatory, and operational needs. As a Senior Business Systems Analyst on the Jira team, you will act as a primary interface between Technology, Product, and delivery teams to translate business needs into Jira platform capabilities. This includes defining and refining Jira workflows, issue types, field configurations, automations, and integrations while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, audit requirements, and risk controls. You will partner closely with Jira administrators, developers, and stakeholders to analyze requests, document requirements, design effective solutions, and support delivery from production rollout.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of Business Systems Analysis or related experience , preferably supporting enterprise platforms or tools
  • Experience working with Jira (Data Center and/or Cloud) in a platform, enablement, or governance capacity is strongly preferred
  • Strong command of Jira configuration and design concepts, including workflows, issue types, field configurations, validation rules, permissions, and automation
  • Proven ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable, and testable functional requirements
  • Experience designing enterprise ‑ grade processes that balance usability, governance, auditability, and control
  • Fosters a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability
  • Actively stays current on Jira capabilities, Agile practices, and platform best practices
  • Invests time in mentoring and coaching peers and partners
  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships across technology and business teams

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for Jira platform enhancements, including new workflows, issue types, custom fields, screens, permissions, and automation rules
  • Own the definition of functional specifications for Jira solutions, ensuring requirements are clear, testable, and aligned to enterprise standards
  • Define acceptance criteria and “definition of done” for Jira ‑ related stories to support effective development and testing.
  • Design and document end ‑ to ‑ end Jira workflows that support delivery, governance, and audit needs (e.g., approvals, change management, release tracking)
  • Create and maintain process flow diagrams and workflow visualizations demonstrating how users interact with Jira across delivery stages
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve usability, consistency, and adoption of Jira across projects, applying standard patterns where appropriate and justified deviations when necessary
  • Partner closely with product managers, Jira administrators, developers, and delivery teams to review solution designs, clarify business intent, and ensure alignment with platform strategy and enterprise standards
  • Participate in story grooming, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies supporting Jira platform delivery
  • Review development estimates, sequencing, and dependencies with delivery teams and stakeholders to support effective planning and execution
  • Provide functional input into System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and scripts to ensure business scenarios are fully validated
  • Review test results and defect findings related to Jira configurations and integrations
  • Support UAT execution by triaging issues, clarifying requirements, and validating fixes prior to production deployment
  • Identify gaps in existing Jira processes and recommend solutions to reduce manual effort through automation, improve data quality and auditability, and strengthen approval and traceability controls
  • Ensure Jira configurations support risk management, compliance, and governance requirements, escalating risks and concerns as appropriate
  • Contribute to and maintain Jira platform documentation, including standards, guidelines, and usage patterns
