About The Position

HSBC Technology & Services (USA) Inc. is seeking a Senior Business Manager, PG&C and Legal COO in New York, NY. This role provides strategic support to the PG&C and Legal COO, acting as a strategic thought partner on tactical and long-term matters, including business planning and priority setting. The position leverages data and analytics for insights and operational improvements, prepares for Quarterly Business Reviews, and supports annual financial planning. A key responsibility is building strategic outsourcing and offshoring operating models that integrate seamlessly with global teams to achieve cost, process, and performance efficiencies. The role also supports organizational design and recruiting, facilitates internal communications, and manages people-related processes such as compensation and promotions. Efficiency is to be boosted by streamlining internal processes and workflows using low-code solutions and responsible AI initiatives, while staying informed about Generative AI advancements. Ensuring compliance with global policies, compliance, and audit requirements, and continuously assessing operational, regulatory, and legal risks are critical. Telecommuting is permitted up to 50%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate related work experience.
  • 7 years of experience in managing projects by defining step-by-step timelines, KPIs, milestones, and ownership for key strategic initiatives and following up with project owners to ensure timely completion.
  • 7 years of experience in data analysis and visualization in designing and operationalizing dashboards and visuals, including year-over-year trends.
  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and cost management, instilling cost discipline measures on project teams and setting KPIs to deliver financial budget.
  • 7 years of experience in process optimization, including road-mapping and rationalization, and implementation.
  • 7 years of experience in creating location strategies, including strategic reviews, work force planning, budget forecasting.
  • 6 years of experience in developing organizational design, including strategic outsourcing and offshoring.
  • 6 years of experience in leading communications and trainings associated with technology implementation projects.
  • 4 years of experience developing and supporting employee experience strategies, including all people-related processes.
  • 3 years of experience in product management, bridging the technology gap and connecting needs of employees with technology capabilities.
  • 3 years of experience in ServiceNow.
  • 3 years of experience in low-code and no-code software solutions.
  • 3 years of experience in identifying opportunities to improve employee experiences based on AI innovation.
  • 2 years of experience in a multi-jurisdictional, regulated, matrixed financial services organisation.
  • 2 years of experience in developing AI strategy or initiatives.
  • International travel required up to 5%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic support to the PG&C and Legal COO.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the Executive on tactical and long-term matters, including business planning and priority setting.
  • Leverage data and analytics to generate insights for decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Prepare for Quarterly Business Reviews aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Support annual financial planning as needed.
  • Build strategic outsourcing models for the team including building offshoring operating models that can operate seamlessly with headquartered global teams in order to deliver cost, process and performance efficiencies.
  • Support organizational design work, including any recruiting activities.
  • Facilitate internal communications, including preparing agendas, leading meetings, cascading updates, and ensuring alignment across the team.
  • Facilitate and support People-related processes across the team, including compensation or promotions.
  • Streamline internal processes and workflows to boost efficiency, productivity, and scalability by leveraging low-code solutions and responsible AI initiatives.
  • Keep a strong pulse on the fast-moving Generative AI landscape.
  • Ensure that all staff and activities across the global team comply with all internal global policies, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Continually reassess and address any operational, regulatory and legal risks.
