About The Position

The Senior Business Manager for the Berkley School of Nursing (BSON) is a key strategic leader responsible for financial stewardship across the school's academic, research, service, and administrative domains. This role reports to the Dean and provides oversight of budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation, aligning with institutional priorities and enrollment forecasting. The position supports data-informed decision-making, ensures compliance with university policies, and advances the school’s mission through effective financial management and strategic planning. The Senior Business Manager partners with senior leadership at BSON to manage financial resources with integrity and strategic discipline, promoting operational excellence and fiscal accountability within Georgetown’s Jesuit tradition. The role involves maintaining strong working relationships across Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC), other university schools, and central administrative units, and collaborating with academic leaders and external partners (e.g., 2U, 3rd party marketing co) to ensure optimal fiscal operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven to ten years of administrative/supervisory experience, including at least four years in higher education, with demonstrated financial management in complex organizations.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, data analysis tools, and project management software.
  • Strong computer skills necessary to carry out financial reporting, forecasting, and planning.
  • Demonstrated ability with proficiency in financial modeling for programmatic/unit development, implementation and growth.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated excellence in enrollment forecasting and modeling.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks, prioritize effectively, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and to foster an inclusive, supportive work environment.
  • Demonstrated visionary and strategic leadership that drives fiscal excellence, fosters innovation, and promotes continuous improvement.
  • A proven track record of creating and sustaining inclusive environments that empower both individual and collective success.
