About The Position

Software Mind is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Data Engineering team of a client in the advertising and retail technology space. The role serves as an expert in reporting, dashboards, and data visualization, turning data into clear stories for product and business teams. The position involves building reliable, analysis-ready data and scalable reporting solutions while collaborating with stakeholders and data engineers.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with BI tools such as Domo, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Strong SQL skills, including data modeling, query optimization, and stored procedures.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data extraction, transformation, and visualization.
• Proven ability to tell stories through data visualization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and comfort with ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile, fast-paced environments.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience creating datasets, dataflows, and dashboards in Domo.
• Experience building integrations with SaaS APIs such as Salesforce.
• Production experience with dbt.
• Certifications in BI tools such as Domo, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and publish dashboards, metrics, and reports for internal and external users.
• Work with stakeholders to standardize data and metric definitions and recommend new metrics and strategies.
• Integrate internal and external data sources to deliver high-quality, analysis-ready datasets.
• Monitor data for anomalies and increase visibility into outages and system issues.
• Partner with data engineers to understand upstream data changes and update dependent BI solutions.
• Enable business users to self-serve through the tools developed.
• Identify process improvements that support more scalable, automated reporting.
• Participate in peer reviews, QA activities, and Agile ceremonies.
• Support onboarding of new team members.
