About The Position

Healthcare reform and new paradigms in systems management have led to a substantial increase in the volume and variety of data at NewYork-Presbyterian over the last several years. The Analyst is responsible for assisting the transformation of clinical and operational processes by providing analytic insight on areas of improvement. This includes analyzing clinical and business flows to define opportunities for change, integrating multiple data systems across various departments and providing accurate, actionable information to key stakeholders. This position requires direct and effective interaction with Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, Directors, Physician Leadership, and other staff. This is a full time position located at NYP/Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Public Health, Operations Research, Computer/Systems Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in business intelligence reporting, data mining, data analysis, or statistical analysis
  • Experience working with data mining, data discovery and/or modeling tools
  • Strong analytic skills and ability to use a variety of software such as SAS, Python, R, SQL, data visualization and business intelligence tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), other related statistical programs, MS Excel, and MS Access
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data; maintaining and managing large datasets, including ability to ensure the integrity of data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint presentation development
  • Strong data exploration and visualization skills
  • High initiative and ability to work independently as well as in small groups to problem solve
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work effectively in a complex and matrix organizational structure

  • Epic certification: Clarity, Cogito, Caboodle, Slicer Dicer
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake as a cloud data warehousing platform
  • Ability to do predictive analytics
  • Familiarity with health care environment
