Senior Business Intelligence Analyst
About The Position
Quantix Supply Chain Solutions is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join its BI & Data team. This role primarily focuses on developing Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models that translate complex information into clear operational and strategic insights for division leadership and business users. The analyst will support data integration and enterprise data warehouse (EDW) work within assigned divisions, coordinating with the EDW Architect. The position reports to the Manager, Data Analytics and works closely with Finance, division leadership, and other stakeholders across the organization. The role also supports AI-assisted analytics initiatives, helps maintain data definitions and quality, and serves as a technical resource to junior analysts. It is a full-time remote position with minimal travel required (0–15%).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on Microsoft Power BI experience, including data modeling, DAX, M, report and dashboard development, and row-level security.
- At least 5 years of experience writing SQL in a complex relational database environment, including joins, aggregations, window functions, subqueries, and query optimization.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Motivated, proactive self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Azure data services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, or Microsoft Fabric.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star schema and dimensional modeling.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain industries.
- Knowledge of other BI tools, such as Tableau or Qlik.
- Relevant Power BI certifications.
- MBA or advanced degree.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide operational and strategic insights.
- Lead dashboard development for assigned divisions from requirements gathering through user acceptance testing (UAT) and go-live.
- Build and maintain Power BI data models, calculated measures, and DAX/M logic.
- Optimize Power BI reports and data models for performance and scalability.
- Configure and maintain Power BI row-level security roles.
- Train and support business users in Power BI usage, report navigation, and best practices.
- Provide ad hoc data mining and analysis in response to division leadership questions.
- Validate data to ensure the accuracy and integrity of reports and dashboards.
- Partner with Finance and division leadership to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Build tables in the development environment to test and validate data in coordination with the EDW Architect before production promotion.
- Work with Finance and division stakeholders to define and document data definitions and business rules for assigned divisions.
- Own and maintain documentation of business rules, field definitions, and reporting logic.
- Participate in data quality validation and flag data integrity issues for resolution.
- Coordinate with the EDW Architect on pipeline design and technical documentation.
- Support AI-assisted analytics initiatives on the Quantix EDW, including structured data preparation and integration of AI outputs into dashboards.
- Identify opportunities to apply advanced analytics to improve division reporting and operational insight.
- Stay current with emerging tools and techniques in Power BI, BI development, and AI-assisted analytics.
- Gather stakeholder requirements and deliver customized analytics solutions.
- Communicate findings, data limitations, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Serve as a resource and technical guide to junior BI & Data team analysts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
