About The Position

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will partner strategically with finance and engineering leadership to develop cost governance and forecasting models across AWS and GCP. The role works with billing datasets reaching billions of rows per day and requires fluency in finance fundamentals, including pricing, cost modeling, and forecasting, as well as large-scale data querying and analysis.

The analyst is expected to apply an agent-first approach, considering whether AI agents can own processes, workflows, or reporting end to end. The role owns deployment and continuous refinement of agentic AI tools that monitor spend, flag anomalies, and execute cost-optimization actions, and designs governance frameworks that enable those agents to operate safely and independently. It also includes mentoring junior and mid-level analysts, providing thought leadership, and representing FinOps in cross-organizational initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience defining, designing, and implementing solutions to achieve business outcomes by evaluating, diagnosing, and evolving business processes and software technologies, and applying advanced metrics to evaluate economic success in the public cloud.
• Strong SQL skills and demonstrated ability to query and model large-scale billing and usage datasets, including billions of rows daily.
• At least 3 years of experience analyzing or operating software systems in one or more public cloud service providers, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• At least 1 year of experience leading or mentoring other analysts.
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying agentic AI tools or workflows as a primary way of solving business problems.
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale initiatives with measurable financial impact.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency with SQL and large-scale data querying and analysis.
• Exceptional written, visual representation, and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Ability to influence without authority at the executive level and drive alignment across teams, functions, and leadership levels.
• Strong track record of mentoring junior team members and elevating team-wide practices.
• Comfort operating autonomously in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.

Nice To Haves

• Direct experience working at a hyperscale cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Prior experience in a FinOps role or function.
• Hands-on experience building or deploying AI agents, rather than only using AI tools.
• Background in pricing strategy and cost optimization at scale.
• Advanced degree, such as an MBA.
• Familiarity with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, in addition to Excel or Google Sheets.
• Six Sigma certification or an equivalent process-excellence credential.
