About The Position

As a Senior Business Development Associate, you will be instrumental in driving Headway's health plan partnerships. This role involves managing external payer relationships, developing deal strategies, and accelerating negotiation outcomes nationwide. You will be responsible for market and buyer analysis to guide partner prioritization, creating deal content and executive briefings to advance negotiations, and maintaining regular communication with payer counterparts. This position operates within an AI-forward commercial team, requiring the ability to direct AI tools, critically evaluate their output, and take ownership of all recommendations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in consulting, BD, partnerships, or sales with end-to-end ownership of external relationships.
  • Experience operating client-facing without a safety net.
  • Genuine commercial instinct: ability to read rooms, build trust quickly, and move conversations toward outcomes.
  • Fluent and skeptical use of AI tools: understanding their capabilities, limitations, and pressure-testing all outputs.
  • Resourceful, scrappy, and thorough approach.
  • Direct healthcare experience is a bonus.
