About The Position

A Senior Business Consultant leads cross-functional consulting engagements, partnering with business leaders to solve operational and strategic challenges. The role conducts structured analyses, synthesizes insights, and develops clear, actionable recommendations that improve performance and support effective decision-making. Senior Consultants manage workstreams, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and support implementation planning to ensure high-quality results. This position is part of the Business Consulting and Transformation Services team (BCTS), an internal Point32Health consulting group which is a resource available to support business areas across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5-7 years of experience in business consulting, preferably in health insurance and/or healthcare, with demonstrated ability to lead medium to large-sized engagements.
  • Ability to structure work for multiple projects, manage timelines, coordinate activities across business areas, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly, facilitate discussions, and influence direction across business areas.
  • Ability to conduct structured quantitative and qualitative analysis, review metrics, and identify high value improvement opportunities.
  • Skill in synthesizing complex information into clear insights and actionable recommendations that support leadership decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead consulting engagements - Lead multiple, medium to large-sized consulting engagements by structuring work, managing timelines, coordinating activities across business areas, and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Clarify business problems - Partner with business leaders to clarify operational and strategic challenges, define and prioritize opportunities and establish a timeline to achieve the goals for the engagement.
  • Conduct structured analysis - Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, review relevant metrics, and leverage benchmarking or market research to assess current-state operations and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop insights and recommendations - Synthesize findings into clear insights and develop actionable recommendations across people, process, and technology dimensions, including business case and ROI considerations when appropriate.
  • Document future-state and support implementation - Visualize and document future-state processes, performance metrics, and solution options; support implementation planning and ensure alignment with organizational strategy and established departmental methodology.
  • Methodology adherence - Apply established departmental methodology to ensure consistency, quality, and repeatability across engagements.
  • Process documentation - Contribute to or lead the creation of consulting deliverables such as workflow documentation, staffing models, organizational analysis, functional decompositions, and other structured analysis artifacts as appropriate.
  • Continuous learning - Maintain awareness of industry trends, technology impacts (including AI) and competitive dynamics relevant to health insurance and managed care.
  • Other duties - Perform other activities as directed by department management.
