About The Position

Lakeside HR Group has been engaged by our client to recruit for a Senior Business Banker to join their team. Our client is a well-established banking organization looking for an experienced commercial lending professional who can build strong business relationships, manage complex credit needs, and serve as a trusted financial partner to clients. This role is focused on developing and managing larger, more complex commercial relationships, with an emphasis on clients and prospects with annual revenues of approximately $2MM to $20MM. The Senior Business Banker will be responsible for growing commercial relationships, supporting credit quality, expanding treasury management opportunities, and helping shape a strong lending culture across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of commercial lending experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong commercial banking background, including sales, credit underwriting, and relationship management.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships and develop customer loyalty.
  • Experience analyzing complex balance sheets, income statements, ratios, and cash flow statements.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending, credit structures, loan documentation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to understand and manage legal and regulatory aspects of commercial lending, including UCC and bankruptcy considerations.
  • Strong sales prospecting, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Action-oriented approach with the ability to recognize issues and respond with urgency.
  • Ability to gather and analyze customer needs and recommend customer-focused financial solutions.
  • Strong judgment, communication skills, and ability to influence across teams.
  • Ability to mentor or guide less experienced lending professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and grow commercial banking relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Serve clients and prospects with complex deposit, cash management, and credit needs.
  • Call on prospective commercial accounts through referrals, joint calling, cold calling, and appointment scheduling.
  • Manage all aspects of the commercial borrowing relationship, including loan closings, ongoing customer communication, and portfolio servicing.
  • Prepare and document loans in accordance with bank policies, legal requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Analyze complex financial statements, cash flow, balance sheets, and related credit information.
  • Consolidate and evaluate complex commercial entities, subsidiaries, and affiliates.
  • Present credit reviews and recommendations to loan committees, clearly explaining analysis and supporting findings.
  • Research key client industries to stay informed on market trends and business developments.
  • Mentor, train, and provide guidance to lending staff as needed.
  • Support assigned projects and contribute to the overall development of a strong commercial credit culture.
