About The Position

This position provides advanced support to a department across several simultaneous projects and programs. The analyst develops reports and dashboards, expands existing metrics, recommends data improvements, represents the department in high-visibility cross-functional projects, and streamlines ongoing activities. The role performs complex analysis across multiple disciplines to support business decisions and translates large amounts of data into meaningful insights for management. The analyst also supports process improvement, project planning and implementation, departmental audits, and system support. The role coordinates with business partners, vendors, and technology teams on issues affecting the department and adheres to company and regulatory compliance and operational risk standards. The position promotes an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand, maintains internal control standards, and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of related business line experience; OR, in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience.

Responsibilities

Develop and produce mid- to high-complexity departmental reports and spreadsheets, including project or product strategy analysis, historical reporting, workflow analysis, and financial analysis.
Identify trends and emerging issues; engage stakeholders to develop project plans, organize virtual and physical events, synthesize perspectives, and communicate findings through white papers, reports, and other formats.
Perform complex analysis and judgment-based work across multiple disciplines to support business decisions.
Analyze large amounts of data and information to provide meaningful insights and communicate those insights professionally to management.
Drive continuous improvement of existing processes and develop or enhance processes, including maintenance plans, procedural documentation, and custom automation tools.
Identify resources to support business operations or improve existing business processes.
Provide input and recommendations to management.
Participate in planning and implementing projects, programs, and plans to achieve short- and long-term business objectives; coordinate the design and execution of projects supporting the promotion and maintenance of the business.
Take a lead role in supporting departmental audits, including user recertifications and compliance testing.
Manage planning, testing, and implementation of projects, systems, products, and regulatory changes affecting the department.
Lead departmental system support and coordinate with business partners, vendors, and technology teams to address departmental issues.
Adhere to applicable compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with company or regulatory standards and policies.
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and applicable issues raised by external regulators.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
