About The Position

The Senior Business Analyst serves as a strategic partner between business stakeholders and the Workday team, leading complex initiatives that improve business processes, drive organizational efficiency, and support Workday-enabled transformation efforts. This role is responsible for leading discovery sessions, process improvements, supporting production operations, facilitating future-state process design, gathering and translating business requirements, supporting Workday solution delivery, and ensuring successful implementation of projects across Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Workforce Development, Finance, and Operations. The position partners closely with stakeholders, subject matter experts, project teams, and vendors to ensure solutions align with business objectives, compliance requirements, and operational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field is required.
  • 5 – 8 years of previous experience in HRIS, Technology, ERP, Human Resources, Business Systems, Government Contracting, Consulting, or related field is required.
  • Combination of previous experience and education will be considered.
  • Must have strong core HCM configuration and Payroll process knowledge.
  • Ability to develop future-state process designs, analyze complex business requirements and recommend solutions, and balance operational support with strategic initiatives and project delivery.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Workday Pro, Project Management (PMP, CAPM or equivalent), or Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA or equivalent) are highly preferred.
  • Previous experience leading medium to large initiatives, supporting organizational change initiatives, working with external software vendors, supporting enterprise-wide HR technology platforms, and experience supporting Junior Analysts is highly preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of reporting and analytics development, integration troubleshooting and support.
  • A valid state driver’s license is preferred with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery workshops and stakeholder working sessions.
  • Act as a functional subject matter expert across areas such as HCM, Benefits, Recruiting, Absence, Payroll support processes, and Workforce Development.
  • Gather and document business requirements.
  • Serve as a primary owner of Workday production support requests, incidents, and service requests.
  • Facilitate current-state and future-state process design.
  • Lead medium-to-large workday initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Workday configuration, business process, reporting, and security issues.
  • Conduct impact assessments and gap analysis.
  • Coordinate testing, validation, and deployment activities.
  • Manage project risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
  • Independently configure and maintain Workday business processes, eligibility rules, notifications, organizational structures, security assignments, and reports within assigned functional areas.
  • Develop training materials, process documentation, and business procedures.
  • Partner with external vendors and implementation partners to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Mentor Business analysts and provide guidance on project delivery and stakeholder management.
  • Drive process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and configuration support to Business Analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing across the Workday team.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, user experience, reporting, and operational effectiveness.
  • Resolve and coordinate ticket activity across workday modules.
  • Troubleshoot business processes, security, reporting and configuration issues.
  • Partner with functional stakeholders to resolve operational concerns.
  • Provide ongoing support for business processes, reports and security roles.
  • All Other Duties as Assigned.
