About The Position

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for producing comprehensive reports for a variety of large-scale projects, including drill-down analysis that measures utilization, cost, ROI, trends, and other utilization metrics. The incumbent may attend management meetings and be involved directly or indirectly with confidential management decisions, requiring the exercise of independent judgment. This role provides strategic business analysis services to key stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and the operational context. The analyst will review and assign business processes end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks. They will produce standardized complex and comprehensive utilization, cost, ROI, and other utilization analysis and metrics to support developed dashboards, and create companion ad-hoc and drill-down analysis as required. Additionally, the role involves the identification and stratification of chronic and non-chronic disease populations using claims, pharmacy, and other administrative data sources. The Senior Business Analyst will develop program feasibility/opportunity assessments, pre-contract feasibility/opportunity assessments, and collaborate with contracting staff to develop performance metrics and definitions for contracts, measuring program performance against contractual metrics. Proficiency in SAS, SQL, other data extraction/manipulation tools, Excel, and Access is required for data processing and analysis. The role also involves using other Microsoft products to develop presentations for various audiences and providing project-level leadership with ownership of assigned subject areas.

Requirements

Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
Must have prior healthcare experience.
Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment.
Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Responsibilities

Provides strategic business analysis services to key stakeholders to gain in-depth understanding of business strategy, processes, services, roadmap and the context in which the business operates.
Reviews and assigns business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks.
Produces standardized complex and comprehensive utilization, cost, ROI, and other utilization analysis and metrics to support the developed dashboard.
Creates companion ad-hoc and drill-down analysis for standardized utilization and cost reporting as required.
Produces identification and stratification of chronic and no-chronic disease populations via claims, pharmacy, and other administrative data sources that supports departmental utilization, analysis and measurement activities.
Develops program feasibility/opportunity assessments, pre-contract feasibility/opportunity assessments, and works with contracting staff to develop performance metrics and definitions for contracts; measures performance of programs against contractual metrics.
Uses SAS, SQL, other data extraction/manipulation tools, Excel and Access to extract, manipulate, and process data, and to analyze and report on large data set.
Uses other Microsoft products to develop presentations suitable for department administrators, physician groups, hospital administration and others.
Provides project level leadership and has ownership of assigned subject areas.
Performs related duties as required.
