Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent combination of experience and/or education may substitute with a preference for seven years progressive relevant work experience.
  • Seven years’ of progressive experience including advanced analytical and project leadership experience (i.e. Business Analysis, Application Systems Development, Management Engineering, Health or Life Insurance); which includes three years in an analytical role.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and research skills required to identify and define requirements, evaluate and select appropriate solutions to business problems or opportunities.
  • Ability to discern patterns and correlate unrelated information, conceptualize, and translate ideas from abstract to concrete.
  • Ability to work at a general, global level, at a detail, specific and build up or down between levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrates support for the company’s mission, vision and values.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal skills to interact effectively with multiple levels of staff, vendors and external constituents.
  • Proven ability to facilitate discussions, lead meetings; conduct formal and informal presentations and training sessions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, take direction, follow through, compromise, support consensus decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to multitask effectively and adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.
  • May be required to manage multiple priorities and projects with tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS-Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, Power Point), graphics and project management application.
  • Formal system development methodology skills based on engineering principles, CASE tools (i.e. Visio), structured or formal analysis and design (modeling) techniques, joint session facilitation.
  • Documentation planning and production, standards and procedures development, training and project management skills also required.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance will be required for any position requiring driving.

Responsibilities

  • Leads corporate projects by defining business requirements and aligning business and application system solutions with organizational strategy.
  • Facilitates complex stakeholder discussions, interviews, and workshops to uncover business needs, challenge assumptions, and drive consensus on solutions.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) within assigned business domains and applications, maintaining deep knowledge of business processes, systems, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
  • Provides consultative guidance to business and IT leadership on solution options, impacts, and risks.
  • Owns the accurate creation, validation, and delivery of Business Requirements Documentation and Functional & Non-Functional Requirements.
  • Ensures documentation quality, completeness, traceability, and alignment with enterprise standards and compliance expectations.
  • Leads solution design collaboration by partnering with technical teams, architects, and business stakeholders to evaluate alternatives, define system behavior, and ensure solutions meet both business and technical requirements.
  • Facilitates and leads User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy and execution, including test planning, stakeholder coordination, defect resolution, and final business signoff.
  • Ensures delivered solutions meet intended outcomes and quality standards.
  • Performs project leadership responsibilities, including scope definition, prioritization, timeline coordination, and risk identification.
  • May manage projects or major workstreams across all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring delivery aligns with business objectives.
  • Provides advanced application and process support, leading root cause analysis for complex issues and driving resolution through collaboration with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Leads system implementation efforts, including business requirement validation, gap analysis, cost-benefit evaluation, solution recommendation (build vs. buy), testing coordination, end-user training support, and development of documentation and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Establishes and enforces documentation standards, governance practices, and quality expectations.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on deliverables produced by other analysts to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Acts as a mentor and leader within the Business Analyst community, providing guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to IT Business Analysts.
  • Supports onboarding, skill development, and adoption of best practices across the team.
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships and serves as a trusted advisor to business and IT partners.
  • Communicating complex concepts clearly, influences decision-making, and helps stakeholders understand impacts, trade-offs, and recommendations.
  • Drives continuous improvement and innovation by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance systems, and improve delivery practices.
  • Champions system development methodologies (SDLC/Agile), quality initiatives, and organizational transformation efforts.
