About The Position

The Senior Business Analyst is the third level in a four-level job family of Business Analyst roles. This role is responsible for creating artifacts, ensuring the team effectively categorizes work into manageable tasks within an agile framework, and participating in cross-functional scrum teams. The Senior Business Analyst identifies opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes, leads planning, and conducts requirements sessions for initiatives, including highly complex projects. They perform gap analysis, research vendor solutions, and collaborate with QA on test strategies. A key responsibility is owning the creation and execution of the UAT Test Strategy. This role also manages large-scale projects from concept to implementation, potentially taking on change management, scope, budget, and timeline responsibilities if a Project Manager is not assigned. Communication of project progress to stakeholders throughout the SDLC and managing activities to establish target implementation dates are also crucial.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Business, Information Systems or equivalent
  • 4-6 years of Experience (as a BA or in financial services)
  • Highly developed experience in and knowledge of applicable systems, reporting capability and user functionality of systems.
  • Practicing experience in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Creates artifacts helpful for the pod/project/initiative including but not limited to feature maps, process flows, visual mockups and high-level requirements.
  • Ensures the team effectively categorizes work into manageable tasks that can be included and tracked in an agile framework methodology.
  • Participates in cross-functional scrum teams as required.
  • Ensures the team’s assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement in business operations and process, then leads planning and conducts requirements sessions for those initiatives including highly complex projects.
  • Performs gap analysis, researches and analyzes complex vendor solutions and compares and contrasts products against business area requirements for highly complex internally and externally developed applications.
  • Collaborates with QA in developing the QA Test Strategy.
  • Owns the creation of the UAT Test Strategy & leads execution of User Acceptance Testing with each business area.
  • Manages large scale projects, both in size and complexity, from concept to implementation with or without a Project Manager.
  • If there is no Project Manager, this role would pick up responsibilities including owning change management and including but not limited to scope, budget and timeline discussions with the business and management.
  • Communicates the progress of a project to a set of key stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
  • Manages activities to establish a target implementation date and remove blockers as they arise.
  • Performs other job-related functions as assigned by the manager.
