About The Position

Responsible for providing a wide range of value-added complex technical analytics to support various Pharmacy, Health and Wellness Initiatives. Provides operational recommendations based on those analytics. Responsible for collecting and analyzing performance data, and developing business performance reports and analysis that support key decision making. Responsible for creating and managing various database structures and analytics websites to collect analyze and disseminate operational data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical/quantitative field, such as IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Economics, etc.) and at least 3 years of experience in an analytical or pharmacy role OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 6 years of experience in an analytical or pharmacy role.
• Experience in analytics and problem solving.
• Experience querying databases.
• Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
• Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
• Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
• Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
• Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: VB macros, nested if statements and other complex functions, advanced pivot table skills, merging and centering cells, printing centered page, etc.)
• Experience with full-stack application development
• Demonstrated experience administering or developing solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, Databricks, Snowflake, Teradata, and Oracle
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages or frameworks, such as Python, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS, and Vue.js 3
• Experience using Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio Professional to develop, debug, test, and deploy applications
• Experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools, including agentic workflows and large language models, to improve software development, testing, documentation, and maintenance
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining databases, tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures that support business operations, analytics, and reporting
• Experience planning and managing projects, including scope, resources, timelines, risks, and deliverables
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of an organization
• Experience collaborating with internal and external partners to develop and implement strategies that achieve departmental goals within established budgets and timelines
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including developing clear, executive-ready presentations that communicate complex information effectively
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, analytics, or a related field
• Experience in retail, pharmacy, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry

Responsibilities

• Defining, designing, building, and preparing daily, weekly, monthly, user customizable, and adhoc operations reports and analysis for key operational metrics.
• Acting independently when prudent to go beyond the request and anticipate the current or future needs of the request which would add value or increase functionality/ease of use.
• Collaborating with management in defining broader pharmacy analytics strategy.
• Mentoring/coaching/training/providing assistance to other analysts on the Strategic Analytics team and also to Store Operations, Pharmacy, and other Walgreens corporate team members.
• Researching, analyzing, and explaining current and past activity, expected trends, and potential effect of change.
• Presenting and supporting findings and recommendations to various management levels within the organization.
• Developing and reporting on highly granular metrics that require an in-depth knowledge of Walgreen pharmacy operations and internal systems such as Intercom Plus and RxI.
• Evaluating data collected and accurately identifying and interpreting trends.
• Based on findings, preparing and communicating results and recommendations to various levels of senior management.
• Ensuring accuracy of all reported data by continually reviewing and analyzing current sources, processes, and systems functions.
• Preparing graphs, spreadsheets, reports, and PowerPoint presentations as required.
• Serving as a subject matter expert on pharmacy performance metrics analysis, design, development, and the execution of queries, business reports and dashboards.
• Using statistical methodologies to describe and model behaviors, transaction volumes, and performance measures.
• Creating and maintaining databases, spreadsheets, interactive self-service reporting web front ends, and other tracking mechanisms.
• Continually reviewing and analyzing data maintenance processes to enhance data integrity/redundancy and maximize usage of available resources.
• Collaborating with internal departments to initiate/implement improvements and efficiencies related to analytics needs.
• Creating and maintaining tools that will automate analytics, such as web-based reporting.
• Establishing reporting standards and criteria and maintaining data and reporting integrity.
• Defining and developing requirements for reporting to all levels within the management structure, and methodology for calculations for metrics and/or analysis.
