About The Position

To provide support for assigned departments with five core functions: 1. Answering executive and operational questions using available data, 2. Serving as a bridge between business users and technical staff, 3. Improving business processes and workflows, 4. Supporting the development, maintenance, governance, and effective use of data and reporting infrastructure, 5. Supporting the implementation of projects, systems, and organizational change.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience with implementation, oversight, and interaction with all assigned business systems, including Student Information Systems and school-based business processes.
  • Experience establishing goals, objectives, and action plans to achieve results.
  • Related background in specific areas of responsibility (e.g., processes functions related to school and district improvement plans, data reporting, procurement, and/or student enrollment).
  • Understanding Business Requirements: Ability to develop an understanding of business processes, stakeholder needs, organizational priorities, and desired outcomes.
  • Skill in gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements, business rules, performance measures, and process dependencies.
  • Ability to translate business needs into requirements, analytical questions, process improvements, reporting needs, and implementation plans.
  • Skill in facilitating communication and building consensus among business users, technical staff, vendors, and district leaders.
  • Data Analysis and Decision Support: Knowledge of data systems, reporting environments, and available data sources commonly used in K-12 school districts.
  • Skill in gathering, validating, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information from multiple sources.
  • Ability to evaluate data quality, identify limitations, document assumptions, and assess the reliability of findings.
  • Ability to communicate analytical results in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
  • Data Governance and Reporting Infrastructure: Knowledge of data governance principles, data lifecycle management practices, documentation standards, and business intelligence concepts.
  • Ability to maintain an understanding of data sources, data ownership, reporting processes, business rules, and system dependencies.
  • Skill in supporting the organization, maintenance, and effective use of data and reporting resources.
  • Ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to improve data accessibility, reporting consistency, and documentation quality.
  • Project and System Management: Knowledge of project management principles, system implementation practices, testing methodologies, and change management concepts.
  • Skill in coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, identifying risks, and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Skill in developing implementation plans, testing protocols, training materials, communication plans, and project documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support initiatives from planning through evaluation.
  • Manifest a professional code of ethics and values.
  • Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous, and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
  • Model the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization, and management tasks.
  • Represent the office and district in internal and external presentations, meetings, and conferences.
  • Keep the supervisor(s) and other key people informed of critical issues about which they should be aware.

  • Gather, document, validate, and maintain business requirements, business rules, process dependencies, performance measures, and other information needed to support district operations and initiatives.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative information from multiple sources to answer business questions, identify trends, evaluate performance, and support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Communicate analytical findings, recommendations, risks, assumptions, and limitations in a clear and actionable manner appropriate for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support the identification, documentation, and effective use of data sources, reporting processes, business rules, and system dependencies needed to meet organizational information needs.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to improve data accessibility, reporting consistency, documentation quality, and the overall effectiveness of analytical and reporting resources.
  • Support the governance, maintenance, validation, and continuous improvement of reporting processes, data assets, and information resources used for decision-making.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, testing, evaluation, and continuous improvement of business processes, systems, technologies, and operational initiatives.
  • Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, identify risks, document issues, and support the successful implementation of cross-functional initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, training materials, communication plans, testing protocols, standard operating procedures, and other materials necessary to support implementation and ongoing operations.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
  • Develop leadership in subordinates.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS.
  • With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends, and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
