About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with deep finance process expertise to join the Intelligent Automation group. This hybrid role requires the candidate to be located within 100 miles of any Mayo Clinic campus. The Business Analyst will identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve finance processes, translating these improvements into clear requirements for automation solutions using tools such as UiPath, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Oracle Agent Studio, and potentially others like Claude and Codex. The role ensures automations are accurate, compliant, scalable, and aligned with Finance operational standards. The position involves providing business analysis services at various levels, understanding both business and technical needs, evaluating costs, benefits, and risks of proposed investments, and collaborating with stakeholders to define business objectives and requirements. A strong understanding of business strategy and planning principles is essential, as is the application of systems engineering methodologies throughout the project lifecycle. The role includes performing data analysis, defining business requirements, supporting the translation to functional specifications, and concluding with design synthesis and system validation. The Senior Business Analyst will also assist project leaders, demonstrate system and analytical thinking, build partnerships with stakeholders, and may manage mid-level complexity projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and 6 years experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field OR Master’s and 2 years experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field.
  • Deep finance process expertise with strong working knowledge across FRC, FP&A, and broader Finance and Accounting Services workflows.
  • Proven experience performing finance activities.
  • Progressive knowledge and demonstrated use of business analysis methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to build credibility, rapport and partners with others to understand their needs.
  • Conflict resolution, problem solving, and ability to drive consensus.

  • CBAP Certified Business Analysis Professional, CCBA Certification of Competency in Business Analysis, or PMI-PBA Professional in Business Analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve finance processes.
  • Translate process improvements into clear requirements for automation solutions in UiPath, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Oracle Agent Studio, and possibly other tools like Claude and Codex.

  • Examine costs, benefits and risks associated with the proposed investment/project and recommend alternatives for solutions.

  • Apply system and analytical thinking methodology and discipline.
  • Proficiently understand business strategy and business planning principles and apply to project work.
  • Contribute to project charter and plans, work assignments, target dates, and other aspects of assigned projects.
  • Apply systems engineering methodologies and discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform data analysis, define and document business requirements, support translation to functional specifications, and conclude with design synthesis and system validation.
  • Assist project leaders in coordinating deployment of deliverables.
  • Demonstrate system and analytical thinking capability.
  • Maintain effective correspondence and in-person communication.
  • Build credibility, rapport and partners with others to understand their needs and provides conflict resolution, problem solving, and ability to drive consensus.
  • Work in partnership with stakeholders to develop a solid knowledge base of business needs.
