Senior Business Analyst, Data Integration, CoStar Debt Solutions

CoStarBoston, MA
$99,900 - $147,700Onsite

About The Position

CoStar Debt Solutions is building a new platform for CRE underwriting where credit officers, data pipelines, and AI agents work against the same shared data model. Banks, sponsors, and asset managers query, write, and collaborate on the same underlying system. This role will own the path data takes from external systems into our platform and will grow to own the path agents take into it. In the first year, this involves setting up API integrations for various data sources like loan books, portfolios, and market feeds, managing these connections as ongoing relationships. In subsequent years, the focus shifts to viewing these integrations as agent-callable surfaces, enabling agents to interact with the system through typed contracts. The work begins with REST and GraphQL plumbing and evolves into more advanced applications.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience building and operating production API integrations in both directions (REST, GraphQL, webhooks, OAuth flows, batch ETL).
  • Experience managing API connections as customer-facing assets, including customer IT/data team scoping, security reviews, and being the primary contact for pipeline issues.
  • Proficiency in writing scripts for data manipulation, transformation, and validation (Python, Node, or equivalent), with the ability to read code, ship end-to-end integrations, and determine when a script should become a pipeline.
  • A solid understanding of the importance of typed data models and the requirements for production-grade integrations beyond simple data movement.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person university or college.
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CRE data sources (e.g., FIS, CoStar, Intex, Yardi, MRI).
  • Curiosity about LLM agents and the interface between agents and the systems they call, finding the questions around agent needs from integrations genuinely interesting.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the API integrations that bring customer data into the platform, including core banking exports, property data feeds, CMBS data, and borrower-supplied rent rolls, ensuring each becomes a typed write path respecting the data model.
  • Managing the outbound side of integrations, exporting contextual data back to customer systems via API, enabling enriched records, derived metrics, scenario outputs, and snapshot data to be shared, ensuring customers trust the round-trip data flow.
  • Serving as the primary customer-facing contact for IT teams during scoping, credentialing, and cutover, and as the point of contact for ongoing support and issue resolution.
  • Ensuring the reliability of data pipelines through robust error handling, idempotency, replay mechanisms, retry semantics, and authentication refresh.
  • Making critical mapping decisions for source-system fields to the platform's data model and for exporting enriched data back to customer systems, including fuzzy matching and logging strategies.
  • Maintaining the ongoing health of active API connections, including monitoring, alerting, handling vendor endpoint deprecations, and coordinating with customer IT for credential rotation and schema drift.
  • Over time, evolving integrations from scheduled pipelines into agent-callable surfaces, deciding which writes remain pipeline-only and which become tools for agents, and defining the typed contracts for these interactions.
