About The Position

The Home Systems Software (HSS) team creates software for Apple TV, HomePod, and other Apple devices, supporting home entertainment and connected-device experiences. HSS is seeking a highly motivated Senior Build and Release Engineer for its Engineering Operations team. This role will work closely with engineers to develop and drive the build and release process, maintain and improve existing tooling, and advance the organization’s engineering workflows. The engineer will design, architect, and implement tools to optimize workflows, use AI tools to improve personal efficiency and velocity, and identify opportunities to incorporate AI into automation, tooling, and support workflows. The role calls for strong source-control-management practices and software-development knowledge to help drive processes across the engineering organization.

Requirements

• Passion for developing automation and a proven record of streamlining developer productivity.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools, such as coding assistants and LLM-based tools.
• Hands-on experience with continuous integration and delivery platforms, such as Jenkins.
• Advanced experience with source control, such as Git.
• Experience with branching strategies and best practices.
• Experience building large-scale software and triaging failures.
• Ability to work effectively across different teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years of experience in a software build and release-related role.
• Experience incorporating AI into automation, such as LLM-powered tooling, agents, or Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations.
• Experience working with Xcode.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong experience with Jenkins.
• Experience with Bitbucket.
