About The Position

MDW Associates is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst to provide sound financial stewardship, expert analysis, and innovative approaches to our National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) client in Huntsville, Alabama. This position is onsite, so candidates must be able/willing to commute to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. The Senior Budget Analyst may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties: Provides strategic budget analysis investigating financial data to provide decision makers with crucial information, ideas, solutions and options for the effective planning and execution of the budget Reviews, analyzes, and presents budget and workforce status including detailed variance explanations with impacts and solutions Rely on extensive experience to coordinate business activities, make decisions, plan and accomplish goals. Works independently, when necessary, with minimal guidance. Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization Provide authoritative advice on all aspects of financial management, with primary focus on budget execution, tracking, and reporting Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work from multiple customers, meeting, or exceeding deadlines Develop reports that help with decision-making Expert ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Problem solving experience including- Identifying rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information, and draw logical conclusions. Analyzes and provides solutions to complex problems. Travel to other NASA centers may be required

Requirements

  • Proficient MS Office Applications
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint
  • A knowledge & understanding of automated financial systems and budgetary report generation
  • BA/BS degree in related field (accounting, finance, etc.)
  • US Citizenship required for background investigation

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of NASA experience
  • SAP and Business Objects (BOBJ) or other accounting systems
  • Power BI experience
  • Knowledge of developing cost estimates / proposal for potential new work

Responsibilities
