About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Brand Designer to join our collectibles startup, which has rapidly achieved profitability. Design is crucial to our brand and user experience, and we are expanding the team to match our business growth. Trove is an early-stage B2C company backed by top-tier investors, founded by entrepreneurs with successful startup exits. We offer a gamified e-commerce platform for trading cards, providing digital access to physical inventory. Our team consists of 12 full-time employees and contractors across various global locations. The design team currently includes a Head of Design and a Product Designer. With recent hires in Go-to-Market and Engineering, there is an increased demand for design support. This role will provide an additional resource to increase output and speed while maintaining high quality standards. As an early-stage company, many workflows and systems are yet to be established and will be built collaboratively.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of brand design experience with a portfolio of projects personally led.
  • Demonstrated high bar for design craft.
  • Experience with motion and animation.
  • Experience building brand systems that non-designers can easily use.
  • Clear point of view on typography, composition, and storytelling.
  • Regular use of AI tools across ideation, exploration, and production.
  • Experience creating work beyond digital, including merchandise, packaging, and events.
  • Experience working at an early-stage company with limited structure.

Responsibilities

  • Own brand work across social, email, web, and paid channels, leading projects from concept to delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Design to shape creative direction for larger initiatives like launches and event activations, and then execute.
  • Oversee motion and animation for the product, managing a mix of in-house and contract work.
  • Create creative assets for national events (e.g., Fanatics Fest), stadium graphics (e.g., Chicago Cubs games), special projects (e.g., World Cup, Super Bowl), and other in-person activations.
  • Push creative boundaries and raise the bar for design quality.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Partnerships, and Engineering on most projects.
  • Contribute ideas and influence the product roadmap.
  • Build templates and systems to streamline production.
  • Manage external partners effectively.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to contribute ideas and influence the roadmap.
  • Meaningful impact on the business.
  • No two days look the same.
  • Constantly looking for ways to push boundaries and raise the bar.
