About The Position

Nexaminds is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, optimize, and scale high-performance backend systems and modern cloud applications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Java, Python, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and AI/LLM backend integrations, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative engineering environment.

Requirements

5–8+ years of professional backend engineering experience working with both Java and Python.
Deep expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native architectures.
Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and core backend systems.
Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI/ML backend integration patterns.
Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot to drive efficiency and clean code standards.
A strong mindset for Application Security (AppSec), with experience identifying and fixing codebase/dependency security vulnerabilities
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across cross-functional product, data, and infrastructure teams.
Strong written and verbal English proficiency.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy highly scalable microservices, data pipelines, and APIs using Java, Python, and GCP.
Modernize and optimize core cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and seamless data flow.
Maximize development velocity and code quality by effectively leveraging GitHub Copilot within daily engineering workflows.
Proactively identify, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities to ensure application safety and data protection.
Conduct thorough code reviews, championing high test coverage, clean code practices, and detailed technical documentation.
