About The Position
Verkada is seeking experienced back-end engineers to join its Core Command team. The team is scaling the Auth, Users, Roles, and Audit capabilities of Verkada's core products to support the world's largest organizations. The role involves designing scalable control planes and data primitives, building distributed systems for high traffic from hundreds of thousands of devices worldwide, and launching services within a microservices architecture. The position requires working onsite five days per week.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- At least 4 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience building and scaling access systems to millions of users around the world.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Mastery of at least one of Python or Go.
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
- Experience with key-value storage systems such as Redis or Memcached.
- Experience with distributed queueing such as Kafka and caching such as Redis or Memcached.
- Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with React.
- Experience with gRPC and API specifications.
- Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable control planes and data primitives for all Verkada products.
- Build scalable distributed systems capable of handling high traffic from hundreds of thousands of devices deployed around the world.
