About The Position

In this senior engineering role, the Senior Backend Engineer will design, build, and support scalable microservices powering critical enterprise systems. The role collaborates with product, architecture, and cloud engineering teams to ensure high-quality delivery within a modern, cloud-native platform, while shaping best practices and mentoring others. The role architects and develops microservices using Java and Spring Boot; engineers solutions on Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery; creates efficient SQL queries and data pipelines for high-availability systems; and implements Jenkins CI/CD automation and Terraform infrastructure as code. It also develops JUnit unit tests, advances code quality, leads peer reviews, supports production incident resolution and root-cause analysis, and contributes to agile execution and accurate work tracking. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field is requested. Candidates without a relevant four-year degree require an additional four years of relevant work experience. The role requires a Public Trust investigation, onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility, and meeting the stated U.S. residency requirements. It is remote, with 40 scheduled weekly hours and less than 10% travel required.
