Senior Backend Engineer
About The Position
We are looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to join our team and take ownership of different parts of our stack. You will be working alongside our CTO on all aspects of the current product and future product development. You will work directly with the founding team and leverage your experiences and abilities to inform decisions from product, technology, and strategy. You will help us build the foundation of this company: its culture, its processes, and its practices. There are a ton of interesting problems to solve, so come hungry. Requirements
- Expertise in Python, Terraform, and GCP
- Experience with Node.js, NuxtJS, Express.js or Python
- Experience with Google Cloud, AWS, Azure or Vercel
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, Go
- Experience with REST, gRPC or GraphQL
- Experience with SQL, NoSQL, Postgres, MongoDB, or Firebase
- Experience with Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab or similar
- Experience with source code versioning tools such as Git or Perforce
- Experience with Microservices architecture
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with AI Platforms - OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace, Vertex AI, Bedrock, or SageMaker
- Extensive experience with building enterprise-scale applications with >99% SLAs
- Extensive Experience in Python, Terraform, and GCP
Responsibilities
- Write, review and ship code in production.
- Use Generative AI tools on a daily basis to enhance the quality and efficacy of your software and non-software deliverables.
- Be a self-starter and enjoy working with minimal supervision.
- Evaluate and make technical architecture decisions with a long-term view, optimizing for speed, quality, and safety.
- Take pride in the product you create and the code that you write.
- Be reliable to get the team out of a sticky situation in production.
- Work well on a team of sales executives, designers and engineers in an in-person environment.
- Be passionate about the enterprise software development lifecycle and feel strongly about improving it.
- Be a first principles engineer who exercises curiosity about the technologies you work with.
- Learn quickly about technologies, software and code that you are not familiar with, often from rudimentary documentation.
- Take ownership of the code that you write, and help the team operate with everything that you build, throughout its lifecycle.
- Communicate openly and solicit feedback on important decisions, keeping the team aligned on your rationale.
- Exercise an optimistic mindset and be willing to go the extra mile to make things work.
