Senior Backend Engineer
About The Position
Mesh is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain software solutions for its crypto payments platform. The role works closely with Engineering and Product teams across North America, Europe, and India, building secure crypto-first products that facilitate traditional financial activities such as payments and transfers. The engineer will develop backend services and APIs, use Azure cloud services for deployment and scalability, and help ensure that systems are reliable, performant, and able to handle large data volumes. The role also contributes to testing, debugging, code reviews, architectural decisions, and system design while keeping current with fintech, crypto, and backend-development trends.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as C#, Java, Scala, or Go.
- Security-first mindset and knowledge of security concepts such as authentication, authorization, SAML, API security, and encryption.
- Understanding of crypto concepts such as blockchains, RPCs, and self-custody wallets.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
