About The Position

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will take a hands-on approach to designing and developing scalable, efficient, and maintainable solutions, with a strong focus on C# and SQL for backend development while leveraging AWS to build and optimize cloud-native applications. You will be working with a diverse team of talented Engineers immersed in the private investment banking space. You will contribute to data migrations, system integrations, and reporting solutions while helping modernize critical business processes. Beyond implementation, you will be expected to apply strong software design and architecture principles, evaluate technical trade-offs, and clearly communicate the reasoning behind design decisions.

Requirements

Studies in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Proficiency in C# for backend development.
Strong knowledge of SQL, including database design and query optimization.
Experience working with AWS and cloud-based architectures.
Familiarity with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
Knowledge of Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
Experience with SQL Server and database administration.
Strong software design and architecture skills, with the ability to structure solutions, evaluate trade-offs, and clearly explain the reasoning behind technical decisions.
Exposure to React and TypeScript, with the ability to contribute to frontend tasks when needed.
Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or data processing is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
A positive and collaborative attitude, with openness to feedback, comfort with constructive challenges, and willingness to support and help others.
Excellent written and verbal English to communicate clearly and effectively with the team.
5+ years of experience in similar software engineering roles.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using C# and SQL.
Design robust software solutions, evaluating architectural approaches and technical trade-offs based on business and system requirements.
Build and optimize cloud-native applications and services using AWS.
Handle complex data migrations and transformations across multiple systems.
Rebuild, maintain, and enhance system integrations with internal and external platforms.
Contribute to reporting and analytics solutions leveraging Snowflake and related technologies.
Work independently in a dynamic environment, solving complex technical challenges with minimal oversight.
Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Clearly communicate technical decisions and the reasoning behind software design and architecture choices.
Contribute to a collaborative engineering culture by being open to feedback, constructively challenging ideas, and supporting other team members.
Stay up to date with industry trends and engineering best practices, continuously improving development processes and solution quality.
