About The Position

Luscii is hiring a Senior AWS Platform Engineer to modernize the cloud platform powering its digital health applications, including OMRON Connect. The platform serves several million monthly active users worldwide. The role focuses on strengthening reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency while bringing platform knowledge and ownership in-house and improving the foundations that enable engineering teams to deliver safely and independently. You will help shape and evolve cloud infrastructure, improve developer experience, and establish practices such as Infrastructure as Code, observability, and safe continuous delivery as standard. The work involves modernizing a live healthcare platform incrementally and pragmatically, balancing innovation with the stability patients and healthcare professionals rely on. You will collaborate with engineers and product teams across countries, influence technical direction, and coach colleagues. Luscii describes its workplace as remote-first, with work from anywhere in the Netherlands and monthly in-person team days. Employees have a flexible workspace setup, autonomy and ownership, and work according to Holacracy principles. English is the primary language for internal communication. The stated maximum salary is approximately €86,000–€94,000 per year, depending on background, experience, and relevant expertise.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience building and operating large-scale cloud platforms, including deep hands-on AWS expertise and the same amount of experience in senior-level ownership of modern cloud architectures.
  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, and a rigorous approach to infrastructure as code.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native, serverless, and event-driven architectures, with the judgment to apply them pragmatically.
  • Experience building reliable production systems with observability, automated deployments, and safe release practices.
  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms through incremental improvements rather than big-bang rewrites, while bringing others along.
  • Strong backend engineering experience; Node.js and TypeScript are preferred.
  • Fluent in English, the primary language for internal communication at Luscii.
  • Open to working in a Holacratic organization and curious about its approach to organizing work, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Able to take ownership of complex technical challenges, make pragmatic engineering decisions, communicate openly, and work both independently and as a team player.

  • Build reusable infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and platform tooling that enable engineering teams to ship independently and safely.
  • Introduce pragmatic cloud-native and event-driven solutions where they improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Standardize monitoring, logging, dashboards, and alerting to make observability a default across the platform.
  • Improve deployment practices through automated CI/CD, progressive delivery, and reliable rollback strategies.
  • Embed security, compliance, and cost optimization into the platform through automated guardrails and best practices.
  • Coach fellow engineers, review infrastructure and application code, and raise cloud engineering standards through collaboration and example.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and colleagues across countries to improve cloud infrastructure, developer experience, reliability, security, and scalability.

Benefits

  • Salary of approximately €86,000–€94,000 per year at the stated maximum, depending on background, experience, and relevant expertise.
