  • Security best practices (AWS Well-Architected Framework, IAM, encryption, compliance).
  • AMI management (creating, customizing, and managing Amazon Machine Images).
  • Networking experience (VPC design, Direct Connect/VPN setup, security groups, NACLs, Route 53 DNS cutover, hybrid connectivity).
  • Azure-to-AWS migration experience (VM Import/Export from Azure VHDs, Azure resource mapping, handling Azure-specific dependencies).
  • Database performance tuning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize AWS Migration Framework (Assess, Mobilize, Migrate & Modernize phases) and 7 R's migration strategies.
  • Perform lift-and-shift rehosting of VMware VMs and physical servers to EC2 using AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), including replication agents, launch templates, and cutover workflows.
  • Migrate SQL Server databases using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) for heterogeneous migrations.
  • Track migration progress across multiple tools and integrate partner tools using AWS Migration Hub.
  • Execute VMware-to-AWS migrations using AWS MGN, VM Import/Export, and optionally AWS Transform for VMware workloads.
