About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SQL Server Developer/Engineer to lead and execute a critical SQL Server migration initiative. The consultant will be responsible for migrating Microsoft SQL Server environments from SQL Server 2016 to SQL Server 2022, including the migration, validation, and testing of all associated SSRS reports and SSIS packages. This role requires a hands-on technical resource who can work independently, coordinate with infrastructure and application teams, and ensure a seamless migration with minimal business disruption. The position requires 100% onsite presence (5 days per week).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of Microsoft SQL Server Development experience.
  • Proven experience migrating SQL Server environments from earlier versions to SQL Server 2022.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server SSIS, SSRS, versions 2016 or later.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft SQL Server certifications (preferred).
  • Experience with Azure SQL technologies (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Power BI integration with SQL Server reporting environments (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Migrate all SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports to the new environment.
  • Migrate all SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and associated configurations.
  • Perform end-to-end testing and validation of migrated SSRS reports and SSIS packages.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues, performance concerns, and compatibility challenges.
  • Install, configure, and validate SQL Server 2022 environments.
  • Migrate and validate SQL Server databases, logins, linked servers, SQL Agent jobs, maintenance plans, and security configurations.
  • Coordinate with application owners, business stakeholders, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful cutover activities.
  • Support production deployment and post-migration stabilization.
