About The Position

We are seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer with advanced Python skills and extensive experience in data engineering. The role involves developing, documenting, and configuring systems, ensuring compliance with architecture standards and business requirements. You will be involved in system planning, deployment, and maintaining compliance and security standards. A key part of this role includes API development using AWS services within a scalable, microservices-based architecture. You will identify and resolve system deficiencies, execute changes, and test functionality to ensure effective data handling and integrity. This position also requires documenting system updates, acting as a liaison with technology vendors and business functions, and strategically designing technology solutions. You will assess platform functionality for business problem-solving and test product quality. Basic maintenance and performance optimization of operating systems are also expected, along with documenting technical specifications and ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
  • Advanced Python skills
  • Working experience with AWS data technologies, including S3
  • Experience with JSON, XML and other relevant data formats
  • Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, ELK, Dynatrace, or Prometheus
  • Expertise with git commands and associated VCS such as GitLab, GitHub, or Gitea
  • Experience with markdown and Antora for creating technical documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with integration engines such as Intersystems, Lyniate, Redox, or Mirth Connect
  • Previous Healthcare or Medical Device industry experience
  • Experience with data technologies such as Snowflake or Trino/Starburst
  • Experience working with Healthcare Data, including HL7v2, FHIR and DICOM
  • FHIR and/or HL7 Certifications
  • Experience building software classified as Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
  • Understanding of EHR technologies such as EPIC or Cerner
  • Experience implementing enterprise grade cyber security and privacy by design into software products
  • Experience working in Digital Health software
  • Experience developing global applications
  • Strong understanding of SDLC Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Software estimation experience
  • Experience leading software development teams onshore and offshore

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic maintenance and performance optimization procedures in primary operating systems.
  • Documents detailed technical system specifications based on business system requirements.
  • Ensures system implementation compliance with global and local regulatory and security standards.
