About The Position

We are looking for a Senior AWS AI Application Developer to design, build, and support AI-driven solutions within a finance technology environment. This role focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into core engineering processes—spanning development, operations, and business workflows—to modernize mission-critical financial systems. You will work across cloud platforms, primarily AWS, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and automated solutions. The position involves hands-on development in Python and Java, deep interaction with Oracle databases, and implementation of AI-powered capabilities such as generative AI and workflow automation. This is a hybrid role based in Reston, VA, requiring onsite presence three days per week.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or database engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Python and Java development in enterprise environments
Solid understanding of Oracle databases, including PL/SQL development and performance tuning
Practical experience building or integrating AI-enabled solutions (e.g., LLMs, generative AI tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, or AWS Bedrock/SageMaker)
Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and CloudWatch
Experience working in Linux and Windows environments, including scripting (Bash/Shell)
Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Git and Jenkins
Ability to troubleshoot across the stack—application, infrastructure, and database layers
Experience automating operational processes, including failover, disaster recovery, and monitoring
Working knowledge of cloud architecture and resiliency patterns
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow is a plus
Understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) is beneficial
Prior experience in financial services or large enterprise systems is helpful but not required
