About The Position

The AI Application Senior Full-Stack Developer designs, builds, tests, and deploys user-facing applications and interfaces that bring Forge AI capabilities into production workflows. This role sits at the intersection of modern full-stack engineering and enterprise AI enablement, creating the applications, dashboards, workflow interfaces, and human-agent interaction layers that teammates actually use every day. This is a hands-on senior engineering role focused on building business applications that integrate AI services, agent outputs, workflow automation, enterprise APIs, and governed data sources. The developer is expected to work across front-end experiences, back-end services, API contracts, orchestration layers, and secure deployment pipelines while maintaining strong usability, accessibility, observability, and production quality standards. Daily work includes building React/Next.js-style front ends, API services, workflow interfaces, administrative consoles, AI-assisted user experiences, and application integrations with enterprise systems. The role supports the Forge model of startup-speed execution within enterprise controls, using approved engineering accelerators while remaining accountable for architecture, code quality, testing, security, and release readiness. For this opportunity, Truist will not sponsor an applicant for work visa status or employment authorization, nor will we offer any immigration-related support for this position (including, but not limited to H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN-1 or TN-2, E-3, O-1, or future sponsorship for U.S. lawful permanent residence status.)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
  • Five to seven years of experience in software development or a related field
  • Five to seven years of experience in database technologies
  • Five to seven years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)
  • 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience building and supporting production web applications or enterprise application platforms.
  • Strong front-end engineering skills with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and component-based UI development patterns.
  • Strong back-end engineering skills building APIs, services, and application logic in modern enterprise engineering stacks.
  • Experience integrating applications with APIs, workflow engines, enterprise systems, authentication layers, and data services.
  • Experience building applications that surface AI outputs, workflow states, or automation results in a way users can act on safely and efficiently.
  • Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, code review practices, and release-quality controls in modern engineering teams.
  • Ability to work across architecture, usability, performance, reliability, and maintainability concerns rather than only a single stack layer.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional enterprise delivery teams operating at high speed within governance controls.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building AI-enabled applications, copilots, workflow tools, or interfaces that incorporate prompts, agent outputs, or intelligent automation.
  • Experience with Microsoft, Azure, Copilot / Copilot Studio, Power Platform, or enterprise AI productivity and workflow platforms.
  • Experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, Python-based APIs, or comparable modern full-stack application development stacks.
  • Experience with design systems, accessibility implementation, and high-quality business application UI delivery.
  • Experience in financial services, cybersecurity, or other regulated enterprise environments with strong audit, control, and release expectations.
  • Experience instrumenting applications for observability, telemetry, production support, and operational insight.
  • Experience mentoring peers, reviewing design or code quality, and operating as a senior-level implementation leader within engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build user-facing business applications, workflow interfaces, dashboards, administrative tools, and AI-integrated experiences that operationalize Forge capabilities for enterprise users.
  • Develop full-stack features across front-end, back-end, and API layers, including interfaces that present AI outputs, workflow states, confidence indicators, review steps, and human-in-the-loop decisions.
  • Implement application patterns that integrate AI services, prompts, agents, workflow automation, and enterprise data securely and reliably into business applications.
  • Build and maintain reusable UI components, application modules, and service patterns that align with the Forge design system, accessibility expectations, and enterprise engineering standards.
  • Create and support back-end services, APIs, and orchestration endpoints that power application workflows, AI-enabled features, and integrations with enterprise systems or tools.
  • Use approved engineering acceleration tools to speed development, testing, refactoring, and documentation while preserving code quality, traceability, and maintainability.
  • Write and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers, ensuring application stability and reliable release quality as AI-enabled features evolve.
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, and usability across the full stack, including front-end responsiveness, API efficiency, error handling, and observability instrumentation.
  • Partner with design, product, AI engineering, security, QA, and platform teams to ensure applications are useful, secure, governed, and production-ready.
  • Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, release preparation, and production support workflows, contributing as a senior technical builder and delivery partner.
  • Document architecture, implementation decisions, integration patterns, operational runbooks, and reusable development guidance for broader Forge adoption.
  • Contribute reusable patterns and senior-level engineering judgment to improve the speed, quality, and consistency of application delivery across the Forge portfolio.

Benefits

  • Truist offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, tax-preferred savings accounts, and a 401k plan to teammates.
  • Teammates also receive no less than 10 days of vacation (prorated based on date of hire and by full-time or part-time status) during their first year of employment, along with 10 sick days (also prorated), and paid holidays.
  • Depending on the position and division, this job may also be eligible for Truist’s defined benefit pension plan, restricted stock units, and/or a deferred compensation plan.
