About The Position

RS&H is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Aviation Practice. This role involves power and lighting design for transportation facilities, floodlighting design for airport aprons, and designing airfield lighting, control, and navigational aid systems. The engineer will lead the design and production of drawings for runway and taxiway lighting systems, NAVAIDs, and aviation infrastructure. Responsibilities include developing calculations, specifications, engineering reports, and construction cost estimates, leading client meetings and site visits, performing construction administration, and assisting with business development and proposals. The role also involves training, mentoring, and guiding junior engineering staff. Opportunities for cross-functional collaboration on building projects, photovoltaic developments, electric vehicle infrastructure, and spaceport projects are available. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, innovative, and enjoys a flexible, team-oriented, and collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience (infrastructure/transportation consulting engineering, preferably aviation)
  • Proven experience leading designs of infrastructure and building electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, security, fire alarm, access control, communications
  • Proficiency with AGI32, SKM, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD
  • Knowledgeable in FAA standards, National Electrical Code (NEC), industry best practices
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
